The Ottoman governor of Yemen known as Hasan Pasha (d. 1607 CE) wrote a history of Yemen, which is available online in Latin translation at the U.S. Library of Congress. Hasan Pasha built al-Bakiriyya mosque in Ṣan‘ā' in 1597 CE. The LOC site has a number of out-or-print early texts on Yemen available online, as noted below. The search engine is not very precise if you put in "Yemen" so it is best to have a specific early book in mind.
